POSITION TITLE: Food Service – Warehouse Driver
WORK STATUS: 260-Day Employee

REPORTS TO: Director/Assistant Director of Food Service and Director/Assistant Director of Maintenance
POSITION SUMMARY: The Food Service – Warehouse Driver will assist with receiving shipments, loading and delivering of food and supplies to specified district sites, maintaining accurate and sufficient inventory, and stocking the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive and store food and nutrition supplies in the warehouse, freezer, and cooler using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
- Fill and deliver requisitions to specified school kitchens.
- Transfer food and supplies between school kitchens.
- Keep warehouse, freezer, and cooler clean and orderly.
- Organize materials in a safe and efficient manner, e.g., pallets, discarded cases, and supplies organized and safely set aside.
- Assist in taking inventory of the warehouse food and nutrition supplies.
- Follow policies and procedures necessary to comply with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
- Service and maintain warehouse vehicles. Report needed repairs to the Director of Maintenance.
- Maintains a clean, neat appearance.
- Process deliveries and collect items in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Deliver mail and make bank deposits as needed.
- Ensure accurate temperatures of refrigerators and freezers in warehouse.
- Assist in performing general maintenance and custodial work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to bend, twist, and lift 75 pounds overhead unassisted.
- Ability to write and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work outdoors and drive in inclement weather.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to formulate tasks and follow through to completion with minimum supervision.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to push/pull manual pallet jack with excessive weight on pallet.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments on a daily basis.
- Ability to complete simple math problems.
- Ability to use Google Suites, Microsoft Office Suites, and district-related systems.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience in a warehouse operation preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with class E preferred.
- Experience with driving one ton or larger vehicle preferred.
- ServSafe certified or willing to obtain ServSafe certification.
- Ability operate a forklift.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Ability to operate a manual and electric pallet jack.
- Ability to work various schedules and in other departments as needed, e.g., summer maintenance or custodial duties.
- Complete ten (10) hours of continuing education per year as required by USDA.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Require the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and ability to work in noisy, stressful, and crowded environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, see, and utilize manual dexterity. The employee is also required to reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.
