POSITION TITLE: Network/Systems Administrator
STATUS: 260-Day; Non-Exempt
PAY CATEGORY: IT 3
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is designed to manage network and systems efficiency and infrastructure for the Fox C-6 School District. This position interfaces directly with the Director and Assistant Director of Technology to implement security and network strategies across all users and devices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
System Administrator
1. Work collaboratively to manage Active Directory/Group Policy, backup solutions, print services, virtualization, e-mail services, and Google Domain services.
2. Diagnose, design, repair, deploy, and configure servers for necessary educational and infrastructure services.
3. Help maintain e-mail filtering, web filtering, antivirus management, security patches/firewall management of servers and node monitoring.
4. Provide recommendations for purchasing necessary client hardware, software, licenses, and Server/Virtualization/SAN technologies.
5. Assist with the creation and maintenance of computer imaging solutions.
6. Assist with disaster recovery planning and response.
7. Provide tier III support for escalated service requests.
8. Perform all responsibilities from System Support Specialist II as assigned.
Network Administrator
9. Collaborate in deploying and managing the district’s VoIP, Internet, WAN, LAN, and other network or communication technologies.
10. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Technology to evaluate the need for communication and network infrastructure equipment, tools, services, software, and other related solutions.
11. Collaborate in deploying and managing the district’s network infrastructure, including, but not limited to, switches, routers, firewalls, and VoIP call/voicemail servers.
12. Serve as the first point of contact for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with network infrastructure, including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, VoIP call/voicemail servers.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

14. Proven track record of creating and maintaining documentation for IT staff and end-users.
15. Strong customer service skills.
16. Experience with educational software and devices preferred.
17. Experience with SQL and other scripting preferred.
18. Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy.
19. Strong security-centered mindset.
20. Ability to effectively and efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects, adhere to timelines, follow through on tasks, and meet deadlines.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid Missouri driver’s license.
2. Knowledge and understanding of computers, networks, and software applications.
3. Experience managing data systems, networks, software and hardware.
4. Experience with server storage and virtualization technology.
5. Experience with SQL and other scripting preferred.
6. Experience with HPE Aruba or Cisco networking switches, routers, and VoIP strongly preferred.
7. Experience with HPE Aruba wireless technologies preferred.
8. Experience in an educational setting preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work setting involves performance in an environment with various levels of staff to supervise and the accomplishment of tasks that are often interrupted by persons with special and/or immediate needs. The employee must be able to regularly work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see, hear, and utilize manual dexterity. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception. The employee must independently transport him/herself to various sites in the District as well as other sites out of the District for various types of meetings and events.
